Interpretation Guidelines

GMES service providers will guarantee a very high quality of the basic land mapping products according to the product specifications. In order to assure that under decentralized production conditions (i.e. within a European network of service providers) all products are harmonized and do not change along borders in GSE Land a visual review of the pre-classified regions is necessary based on well defined interpretation guidelines for all mapping products.

These guidelines have been created by the GSE Land service providers together with experienced users and European experts in phase 1 of the project. They have been already updated using the experience from the first phase. However, the service providers together with their users do strongly believe that these guidelines could be further improved and, thus, would appreciate any feedback on the content and/or the way of their presentation.
